Dental Services Mesa AZ

Interior waiting area at Timothy H. Kindt, DDS.At Timothy H. Kindt, DDS in Mesa, AZ., we provide a variety of dental services to meet all of your oral healthcare needs. From family, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry to dental implants and sedation dentistry - we are here to help keep your mouth and teeth healthy.

Family Dentistry

Family dentistry focuses on ensuring the teeth of your entire family are healthy. This often includes addressing cavities and gum disease.

While our team here at Timothy H. Kindt, DDS is ready to help you and your child through any dental emergency or illness, we would much rather you never have any of these issues to begin with. That is why we put such a focus on preventative dentistry.

The first part of preventative dentistry is a dental exam and cleaning.

During the exam, Dr. Kindt will visually inspect the mouth for signs of cavities, gum disease, damaged teeth, and other conditions.

We will ask a number of questions to help us learn more about your oral health, including questions about what you have been eating, what your brushing habits are like, and if you have had any injuries that may have affected your mouth.

If we see something that is concerning, we may take x-rays during the exam.

The second part of a preventative dentistry visit is the cleaning. We will use a scaler to remove plaque and built-up tartar and then brush your teeth using special toothpaste. The cleaning is concluded with a professional flossing and rinsing out of the mouth.

By providing regular dental exams and cleanings as part of our family dentistry services, we can help ensure you and your child do not suffer from as many cavities, bouts of gingivitis, and other conditions.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry procedures bring new levels of beauty to your healthy teeth.

Treatments will be tailored to meet your individual needs.

Teeth whitening is one of the most popular choices of cosmetic treatments. Years of coffee, soft drink, and tea drinking can take a toll on the whiteness of your teeth. In-office teeth whitening treatments can whiten your teeth by as much as eight shades. There are also options for take-home kits that will allow you to continue to whiten your teeth while you are at home.

Dental veneers are a solution patients opt for when they have a number of concerns about their teeth. Whether you have cracks, stains or unevenness in your smile, dental veneers can instantly transform the look of your teeth. With proper care, dental veneers can last for many great years.

Dental crowns, gum contouring, and other cosmetic dentistry solutions can give you the aesthetically pleasing smile that you are looking for.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry includes any procedure that restores functionality to a tooth or the mouth as a whole.

For young patients at Timothy H. Kindt, DDS, this often includes extractions, crowns, fillings, or frenectomies. These four restorative dental procedures help your child better eat, drink, and speak.

When we extract a tooth, we do everything possible to make the process quick and easy.

We also talk to you and your child about replacement options if the tooth being extracted is a permanent tooth. This may include a single denture, a partial, or an implant. The right solution for your child depends on their overall oral health.

Crowns are put in place following a root canal, or after a tooth has been damaged so badly that the root is exposed.

A dental crown will allow your child to bite down again without causing damage to the rest of the tooth or causing pain. We may place a crown to help hold a tooth together instead of extracting the tooth.

Many of our patients of all ages have fillings. When any tooth has a cavity, the space that was eaten away needs to be filled to prevent further damage and to ensure that the root does not become exposed. A dental filling can be made of several different materials, including composite resin, porcelain, and even gold.

A frenectomy is needed when the frenulum, which consists of the soft tissues in the mouth, restricts a person's tongue. This makes it difficult for the person to speak because the tongue is not able to move correctly. We use a simple surgical procedure to remove this extra tissue, so the young patient has no trouble taking care of their teeth, speaking, or eating.

If you or your child is in need of a restorative procedure it is best to have it done as soon as possible to reduce the complexity of the procedure and to eliminate any pain you may be in.

Dental Implants

A dental implant consists of three parts: the implant, an abutment, and a crown (pontic tooth).

The implant is placed under the gumline into the jawbone where it fuses with the bone, a process referred to as osseointegration.

Once this has taken place, an abutment is attached, connecting the implant to the crown. The crown is placed on top to complete the procedure.

If you are wondering about the benefits of dental implants over other tooth replacement options you've come to the right place.

Our specialists can give you further information regarding dental implants and why they are the ultimate option to replace missing teeth.

Sedation With Nitrous Oxide

We believe that your comfort should be a priority when you are undergoing a procedure.

Sedation options allow you to be as comfortable as you need to be, for the duration of your oral surgery.

There are several options to consider, each tailored to meet your individual comfort needs.

Nitrous oxide is one of the sedation options used most frequently across the board in dentistry. The gas is blended with oxygen, and the patient breathes it in through a mask held against the face.

The gas does not make you feel sleepy. It will, however, make you feel completely at ease and relaxed for the duration of your oral surgery.

Nitrous oxide wears off soon after the gas is stopped, which means that it is possible for patients to drive and even return to work after a procedure.
